There are lots of left over folks from the 60s and 70s in Berkeley who take great glee in protesting anything having to do the US, and like to have their get togethers on the campus. I don't think that Berkeley students actually make up much of the crowd. The student body is a lot different than it was 30 years ago. The vast majority of them are straight laced kids working hard to become engineers, doctors and lawyers.

BTW, the City reversed its ridiculous ban on flags on fire trucks.
