It's a temporal thing, Ted. What I was saying was that at the same time as President Khatami was being touted by Clinton-Gore as a moderate Hillary was kissing up to the Arafats. I corrected myself later, Hillary wasn't kissing them at all. She just hugged Ms. Arafat & pissed off all of Israel.

Now, then, Care to elaborate?

tgptndr, sure....forget for the moment, that we all are supposed to be good Americans, united in a common cause.....there was the implication that somehow H. Clinton's behavior led to the attack on the WTC, or that the terrorists were encouraged to attack the WTC because she gave a wrong impression of who Americans are and what our response would be. Where I come from, that's cheap shot at a time when cheap shots were supposed to be verboten.

Sooo, do you think a cheap shot warrants a quality response?

BTW Clinton was not the only one calling Khatami a moderate.....everyone was when he was elected. And from all appearances he was, especially when compared to his opposition in Iran's presidential elections. In fact Mani and I spoke about it at the time, and he and many other Iranians were happy that for the first time things would loosen up in Iran.

So what was Khatami doing, meeting with terrorists....I don't have a clue.
