Dale, NetBEUI is a NetBIOS Extended User Interface that is based on the NetBIOS protocol. It was designed for application level local LAN communications. TCP/IP has to use NetBIOS to achieve this. Here is a link explaining this:

I don't have ME so can't experiment. Perhaps somewhere NetBEUI has been selected as default (although that doesn't seem logical since it hasn't been installed). I'm stabbing in that dark here. I know Win2k has an option to select NetBIOS over TPC/IP, perhaps that is available somewhere in ME.

We will get to the bottom of this yet. :-)
