I've read every post on this thread since inception and almost every reference link ...
Jill, over time, yours have stood out for there is a consistent message in them .... there is a message in who you agree with ... a message in who you disagree with. The message is clear; it is not one of true understanding nor balance.
You came to this thread and your first post was to attack someone basically calling them ignorant ... uninformed ... < somehow within 5 days you had become an expert > ...in my estimation, only because they didn't agree with you.
Since that time, you have done nothing but post that essentially what has transpired is America's fault, that America is to blame ... I find it quite offensive.
Does our country have flaws ... of course ... does a review of history of mankind find flaws throughout history, yes it does .... you can post each and every one of them but the message you send remains consistent!

I would like to leave you with this Jill ..... there are people who HATE you ... they would look you in your eye and slit your throat ... they have proven that ! They are not reading internet articles seeking to "understand you", they do not "blame" themselves for their past failures ... they simply HATE you. Have you ever stared bitter hatred in the eyes, Jill ? I have; it is not a pretty sight, it doesn't play well in NY lofts .... it is felt in your soul ... and if you haven't stared it in the eye, you will never understand it.
You can continue to post that America and Americans deserve whatever has and will transpire < which is how you come off >, that this is all due to our failures ... but remember this Jill ....
There are young men and women from all over America, the vast majority of which are not high brow New Yorkers posting on the internet while they sip their Chardonnay, preparing to die for YOU ... preparing to lay down their life for YOUR rights ... preparing to shed their blood so that yours will never be.
Reading your message, I sometimes wonder if their sacrifice and the sacrifice of previous generations are worth it.
