These shares were authorized but not issued shares. The outstanding number of shares will be doubled upon the split. Other issuance of shares may or may not be dillutive to earnings, dependant upon what they choose to use these shares for. For instance, I wouldn't frown at a relatively non-dillutive aquisition or two if it fit their business plan.
