This argument is getting ridiculous. If you want to think they're brave because they think they're brave, feel free. All that I understand from trying to get inside their heads is that the motivation is to cause as much damage as possible to civilian targets, in order to provoke frightened civilians to put political pressure on the government. We have some perfect examples of the type right here on this thread. All over America right now there are people who are saying, "this is all our fault," from old time lefties in Berkeley to looney tunes like Jerry Falwell in Virginia. They're shrieking things like "if we attack them, then we might kill innocent people," which is true, and "let's change our policy in the Middle East so they don't attack us anymore," which is a pipe dream. "Let's give peace a chance" - "let's turn the other cheek" - and so forth. It's predictable, and I suppose the terrorists are hoping that more than a small minority will feel that way. It's never been considered one's Christian duty to allow innocent people to be murdered.
