Not universally. Some stop viewing themselves as victims, free themselves from groupthink, and go out and accomplish things, so they redefine themselves as individuals on their own terms.

Or some, like the Hindus who were thrown out of Pakistan with just the shirts on their backs in 1947, had no time to have any views. they needed to earn money to feed their large families. Clothing and shelter came much later on. Almost all of these people have done extremely well while the muslims who threw them out have continued to live in the stone ages.
