US froze some money this morning.

Something interesting happened over the weekend. Bin Laden put out a fax supporting his holy war against the "crusade" led by "Bush" and "the cross".

I guess he figured out that since that all started a thousand years ago, that the Big Enemy had forgotten all about it.

It brings up an interesting point, at least to me. These guys are demonstrating their 'civilization' not only to us, but to all the Muslims that condemn it. It's basically a demonstration aimed at slicing the planet up based on religion. It sounds simplistic.

I saw on 60 Minutes last night a group of regular citizens from Egypt - 'housewife', professional man, etc. and none of them had even the most remote idea that the attack on the US was carried out by Arab people when they heard about it. An Arab terrorist attack did not enter their minds. They all assumed it was some crazy man from over the hill on the other side of the United States or something.

Indeed, one of the guys that was on one of the planes is a case of mistaken identity according to his father, a good Muslim who lives in Egypt. None of these Egyptians were people who were not acquainted with the 20th century. They all appeared genuine in their belief that such a horrific act would not be committed by a Muslim for any reason, let alone as a demonstration of his faith.

This is quite significant. The news media, for some odd reason, <G> has totally failed to grasp this bit of information. There is a big difference between cheering because the mighty country finally got a taste of what "everyone else" has been suffering through, and cheering because you are a Muslim and agree with the battle cry of "Death To All Infidels".

Which makes this move on the money freeze so interesting to me. It is the first actual public move against the people who committed the act, and it involved no guns and no explosives. Who is going to bitch about it? Not too many people is my guess. If I wanted to bitch about that, my first thought would be to wonder if freezing my dough might be next.

And it brings to mind the obvious question: where did the US get enough info to freeze some accounts?

Makes me sure I was right when this all came down, that whatever this country has paid to Israel, it's worth the money right at the moment.

What we are witnessing is history in the making, no less. Even bigger than Viet Nam.

It really is a demonstration of the tactics of each side of the conflict. If it is done correctly, and it shows no sign of not being done correctly, this whole thing will result in many, many more people on this planet able to rest at night and go about their business during the day without loud noises, people having their hands chopped off or worse, and other distractions to the progress of civilization.
