Olu, why does the SPX scare you so? Just looking at the chart you linked, it's clear that the area where it found support makes some sense. It traded in the 900 to just under 1000 area for more than six months in '97 and tested it successfully in Fall '98. Seems a logical place to expect support.

BTW, I think it's funny to hear the bears say things like "we'll need to retest these lows and if it fails, we go lower". Duh? Isn't that like saying "if it's cloudy and we get precipitation, it'll probably rain"? Saying it doesn't make the rain more likely or the prediction, if you can really call it that, any more reliable or valid.
