Hi David,
I looked up cowardly in my (Oxford) dictionary. It says "faint-hearted" So what. The dictionary is always behind the curve on the change on usage of words. I think you're nitpicking David.
I'm just tired of efforts to demonize the enemy and make one's own side out to be perfectly in the right I agree completely, yes... completely. Kind of like people that make general statements like 'All these Christians' :o)
If you peruse my posts throughout SI you will certainly see revenge is not my take. I believe a message has to be sent, yes. That is only to buy some time. Far more importantly (I don't have time to gather my posts up as I'm on the road) something has to be done about the entire Middle East situation including (not in any particular order) Israel, Palestinians, plight of the Afghans and Sudanese, Iraq, Kurds.... these all need to be addressed or nothing will have been accomplished and the problems will surely escalate.
David, how would you deal with Bin Laden ? I don't think we can deal with him because his demands are just a pretext and nothing will satisfy him short of annihilation of all non Muslims. You know Hitler only wanted the Sudentland.... at first. What would you do with Israel, Palestinians, plight of the Afghans and Sudanese, Iraq, Kurds...?
Much of this mess was certainly caused by geopolitical positioning and foreign policy games of the Americans and Russians and Chinese etc... Maybe if the Russians had of butted out of Afghanistan, then the Americans wouldn't have butted in ? Then we might not even have a Taliban ! Of course I'm oversimplifying. A lot of small indiscretion are coming back to bite the US in the a$$ and these things will needs be rectified going forward. All the big powers are to blame.
David, you're sounding like you have a Christian 'chip' on your shoulders, try corn chips, they're healthier.
