Why does this word "consensus" appear everywhere?? Both among the talibans and in most other places and contexts?? Even Ericsson: A very similar discussion have been carried out in 3GPP, including more or less the same companies that are proponents of different proposals in 3GPP2. 3GPP reached a consensus on several of these topics. Thus it seems natural that a solution along similar lines would be acceptable also for 3GPP2. As a consequence we propose five principles that, in addition to be very constructive, also is very "safe" in that there will not be any other technology performing substantially different. dictionary.com One fairly direct understanding is the consent of those ruled by the consensus, but a fairly little used concept in traditional 2-party, majority rule systems like USA,Canada and UK. (any others around??, UK is soon gone, the Sovjet had just one party)
