FL, may I nit pick just a bit ? :-)

many refer to a person called "Bin Laden". I suggest such a description of the person is not accurate.

It is my understanding that,
Osama bin Laden == Osama "son of" Laden.

so when one just says "Bin Laden" one refers to many possibilities.

In reality, Osama's full name is probably along the lines of Osama bin Laden al XXX (I do not know the XXX part), where it means "Osama, son of Laden, of the XXX family".

an example may help understand the naming nomenclature.

John's father is called Jack. Their family name is Smith.

John's name in the arabic nomenclature would be
John bin Jack al Smith

cheers, kumar
