Fair amount of strength in today's COMPX rally. 10 AM EST and 2:00 PM EST counter rallies were neglible. COMPX needs follow through tomorrow to confirm. If three day pattern returns to normal, it will indicate trading has returned to normal trading patterns.

SOX and COMPX signal went flat today though, so caution is advised.

It is interesting what did not participate today:

EXTR - slower deployment in GigE as reported by COMS???
AMCC, PMCS - downgraded
AVCI -still falling despite trading below cash

What did go up was storage and telecom equipment stocks.

The Prodigal Bull
By:Adam Martin
You could almost hear the collective sigh of relief on Wall Street as the indexes climbed through the day, pretty much, to recover 25%of last week's losses. Bargain hunting buyers came out in force as traders took heart in the closure and beginning of a number of business deals that lent an air of normalcy to the business community, and in some good news from JDS Uniphase. Analysts are already speculating as to whether this is a short term technical bounce, or the first step in a real rally. Traders are happy to see some green on the boards after the indexes gave up more than 14% of their value last week, one of the worst on record in the aftermath of the tragic events of Tuesday, September 11th. Stocks had some other encouragement today as JDS Uniphase has issued a statement saying, essentially, that it sees the beginning of the end of the downturn in its market. Combined with a promise from President Bush in his weekly radio address to support the economy, traders seem to see enough reason to rally. Analysts have been saying for days that the market is deeply oversold, and today's rally seems to verify that.
