Not to fester this debate any worst than it is, you posted Ask the middle eastern men who were pulled off planes for no particular reason recently.
The man was pulled off due to his physical appearance.
Even to myself, he looked like pictures of the highjackers.
I believe the Plane Captain was being too emotional and better logic should have prevailed. The Captain had a lot of people under his responsibility. I would not say he was right, but I can understand why he did what he did.
Chris Matthew recently said in response to “why people were blaming so many people from different countries just because they look similar to the highjackers”.
He said, “You wouldn’t look for individuals of the Nordic heritage, nor should we interrogate blond people coming from Switzerland.
My point and maybe his, is that there are characteristics representing the overall gang of highjackers, and it is not blond hair, blue eye Swedes.
I also believe the Japanese internment camp was not the best idea in handle people that looked like someone else. But what else do we have at first glance, but what people look like.
Benjamin Franklin said something to the effect, “the way a man presents himself, in dress and deeds, is what you can expect from him”. We are to most people what we appear to be. Those highjackers have put a face on these terrible deeds. The face gives an appearance that is similar to a lot of good people throughout the world. This is the result of Bin not that Captain.
This Captain was seeing someone he thought he recognized from pictures he saw in the news.
Who would I feel comfortable flying with, “I’m not sure anymore”.
Neither was the Captain. But I am sure he was sincere in his actions.
Just a thought.
