HI Brian,

Here's my thought process.

First off I didn't live in this era,but it is widely credited that two nuclear explosions administered to the people of Japan, in fact not only ended the war sooner but some even say it saved lives. I really don't know if that is true, but I know history teaching justifies it that way.

I say if the terrorists have preped their caves to be lethal(that to me seems like a no brainer) - give them 15 minutes to come out and surrender peacefully or give the mountain a new foot hold in bed rock and shake that puppy with a small nuclear underground shocker. The kind that rattles your back molars.

I say after about two of those accross the tv air waves and you can offer them 10 minutes to crawl out and you'll have a line of them.

The net result would be less death and you'd actually have people you could try in a court of law that would confirm the message.

To go in after suicidal zealots who have prepared for you is nuts.Like the president says "smoke em out".

One or two of those little shockers would be giving them what they gave 6000 people in the WTC.In a sense ,an eye for an eye. That is violent - but that has been proven to be the language they understand and communicate by.

I say let's communicate.

Give them a chance to surrender - much more than they gave anyone - and then go to the fastest fix with least loss.Call it fair and final.

Bob

I respect your desire for peace, and it is the higher road - I just don't think in this extreme case it will be effective or appropriate. JMHO
