Hi Juan,

I'm sorry, I don't know any more about the deal than the article mentioned. Hopefully more info will be posted by one or both of the companies soon.

Truman Bradley just posted a reference to a great article about Tamagotchis in the Playmates Toys group, techstocks.com. The article is at washingtonpost.com. One paragraph in the article shows how Tamagotchis are selling compared to other virtual pets (including PC-based pets):

"PF.Magic has sold nearly 1 million desktop pets
worldwide since 1995, the year the company
pioneered the concept of virtual pets. By
comparison, in the month of May alone, Bandai,
Tiger Electronics and Playmates Toys have sold
about 1.4 million virtual pets of the hand-held type
in this country, according to NPD Group, a market
research firm in Port Washington, N.Y. More than
three-fourths are Bandai's Tamagotchis."

It looks like Bandai has the lion's share of the market so far. The article has some great links to other Tamagotchi pages, including pages which show the next-generation "themed" Tamagotchis, a bug and a whale. There is also a link to a Bandai page which describes the PHS phone, geocities.com, and which shows pictures of it.

Unfortunately none of this news seems to be helping BNDCY's price lately...

Kirk
