>>Both Loral (NYSE:LOR) $1.51 and QUALCOMM (NASDAQ:QCOM) $47.60 seem, on the surface, to be priced attractively for the long term investor.<<

HerbVic, you've made me consider upgrading to a PowerBook. As to Globalstar, even though the common stock has gone up lately, investors ought to be very skeptical of finding any value in the common, given that the bonds are in default, and likely to remain in default for at least a year. Loral now concentrates almost exclusively on building satellites used either in direct broadcast TV or similar applications. Its market is somewhat limited due to the extremely sophisticated electronics used, and regulations preventing sales to certain overseas countries, such as China. QUALCOMM, never a great favorite of institutional investors (who prefer larger companies like Nokia and Motorola), still seems to be the most undervalued company in the wireless equipment sector.
