Dave,

Is AMD still planning a fall marketing campaign?

If the CPQ/HWP merger comes off, who do they have left, Sony and HWP? How much US advertising can you support with two OEM's, and the screwdriver shops?

Also a combined CPQ/HWP would have huge pricing leverage over AMD. They will end up representing a very significant portion of AMD's business.

But of course you are right, when they had the upper hand one to two years ago, they should have been investing in building brand, end user demand. It's obvious that Gateway feels they don't lose much, if anything, in the way of sales or gross margin dollars by going all Intel. That means the consumer values Gateway's brand over AMD's brand.
