Short selling is an integral part of the market's health. To artificially skew the market by disallowing short selling is to weaken it.

Patriotism has nothing to do with trading the stock market, except perhaps that trading -- in any direction-- is better than a full-scale run for the exits.

And I am not a dude. :)
