Another offer is unlikely. Dell's not in the business. Microsoft doesn't want to get into hardware. AT&T enjoyed its experience with NCR. IBM is hooked up with Stratus any way. Fujitsu is in bed with Amdahl. DEC is poor. HP, Sun are doing their own thing. Who else is there? The outside possibility is NEC. A couple of years ago NEC and Tandem tried to do some joint development but Tandem performed so poorly that NEC kinda bailed out of the deal. They may not be too excited about Tandem.
