You posted This is the kind of mentality that "understands" why blacks should be viewed with suspicion in rich settings, because there were black criminals who robbed a 7-11.
Actually, I was careful and said drugs were related to the robberies, not by colour.
And I would have even said, 25 - 35 white men on meth as a most likely to commit a 7-11 hold-up in south east US. He would then drive off in an old truck with a gun under the seat. He is single and maybe living with other meth addict.
Just as a midwest car chase has a 18 -26 year old drunk white boy in his new fast cars showing off to friends.
You may recall, I eleven years US Military "Navy". During those years we pulled into many new countries. Prior to arrival, we would all learn what the stereotypical "bad guys" for that country and maybe city.
And this was good advice to hear. Failure to size up the situation fast enough got many other sailors into hot water.
After walking into any new environment, I would immediately try to determine who, good and who was bad and what opportunities were present. Then put yourself in a safe place outside of the opportunity window. Sometimes this would be only use certain cabs from specific companies as others would rip off the sailor.
An example is cab drives would pick up a sailor and drop him off at the bad guys back door. Then the sailor would have been fleeced and beaten up
I just thought of the time, 15 years ago my wife was parking her car in the Band of America packing lot on Argues "near AMAT B81". While walking towards the bank, see saw two big guys running towards the bank pulling down ski mask.
My wife stopped going in and returned to the car. Yes a robber was in progress. These two men could have been in a hurry to go to Reno and just needed an ATM, but no, my wife stereotyped those two men by their actions and appearance, correctly so.
Just a thought.
