Yes Billie, the counterfeiting has been a problem for Oakley. They are working with various Law enforcement and private investigators to crack down on it. They have the biggest problem in Mexico, D.C., New York, and Venice, California. Just about a month ago, they cracked down on a major counterfeit facility in Carson, Ca. Seizing everything from inventory of fakes to computer records showing vendors, sales locations, etc. This has also led to similar smaller seizures. As far as your not being able to tell the difference, I am afraid you are not too familiar with Oakley sunglasses. If you had both pair side by side, the fakes would be quite obvious. The fakes offer none of the superior optical quality and protection you get with Oakley's. Regards, Jeff.
