First Call says earnings will be released July 17.
Steve:
To borrow a line from Slick Willie, "I feel your pain". It was frustrating to see the stock max out at successively lower highs after each of the last three positive earnings surprises. This quarter might be an earnings disappointment, but the fundamentals are still there.
The imaging industry has enormous growth potential--for government, insurance, etc. For example, the circuit court in McHenry County (a Chicago area suburban county) has all its closed case files scanned into an archive accessible by computer. In Cook County, if you want to examine a closed court file you have to order it from a warehouse and wait a week. Eventually, every metropolitan court system will have its court files scanned and archived.
Unless someone can marshall facts or inferences to the contrary, the Motorola/Kodak scanning sensor joint venture is GOOD news, not bad, because it underscores the growth potential of the imaging industry, of which Cornerstone will have an important software niche.
This stock could well be in the doldrums this summer and into the Fall. But if it's in the 20's within the next two years, which seems likely, our current pain will have faded. |
