As much as I truly, truly hate layoffs, I will note that AMD is not the only company in the world that has reduced their headcount this year. As a matter of fact, AMD was able to withstand having to do this for far longer than many, many other tech sector companies.

At the current time, we know that AMD will post a loss next quarter. While this may continue, I think you are hopelessly exaggerating by saying that it's "as far as the mind can project". The mind can project "forever", and I sincerely doubt, as likely you do, that AMD will lose money every quarter until the end of time.

Nonsense. AMD is in paradise right now compared to where they were in early 1999, when they were a billion dollars in debt. Now, they're at least half a billion dollars in cash. They're in a far better financial situation than they were back then, even though the economy sucks right now and didn't at that time. I don't harbor any illusions of AMD being in a strong position right now, but I'm finding you awfully prone to exaggeration in your comments here.
