Majestic Commences SAFE-T-GARD Pilot Program in Arizona; Tragic New York Bus Accident Reinforces Need for Majestic's SAFE-T-GARD
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Majestic SAFE-T-PRODUCTS, Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Majestic Companies, Ltd., (OTC Bulletin Board: MJXC - news) announced today that its innovative and patented safety device, the SAFE-T-GARD, has recently been installed at a school district in Northern Arizona. Leaders for the participating district see this as a proactive measure towards decreasing student fatalities outside the school bus. The SAFE-T-GARD is a polyurethane wheel guard/deflector shield designed to eliminate fatalities such as the one involving a 9-year-old boy that occurred just over one week ago in Freeport, New York. The fourth grader thought he had missed his bus. According to Detective Frank Guidice of the Nassau police, ``As the bus drove by, he ran out and slapped the side of the bus in an attempt to get the driver's attention. But as the rain poured down he slipped underneath the bus and was run over by the rear tires.''
``This is precisely the type of accident that the SAFE-T-GARD was designed to prevent,'' said Majestic Companies President Dr. Steven Rosenthal. ``Our mission is to see that industry leaders throughout the US follow the lead of transportation directors in Virginia, Michigan, Arizona and California, who are taking steps to adopt the SAFE-T-GARD in order to eradicate these preventable tragedies.''
Ms. Charla Little, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Majestic SAFE-T-PRODUCTS stated, ``This type of awful accident, which occurs all too often, is the very reason more and more school districts are inquiring about the SAFE-T-GARD.'' She went on to say ``approximately 65% of all fatalities involving school buses occur outside the bus with many involving the right rear tires. No one wants their loved one to become one of these senseless statistics.
``The school districts we are working with and the Department of Public Safety in Arizona are truly establishing themselves as leaders in school bus safety. Our goal is to see this new safety technology as standard equipment on all school buses in the very near future.''
Officials with the Warren Consolidated Schools in suburban Detroit, Michigan recently expressed their appreciation for having the SAFE-T-GARD installed on buses in their district. They report that the performance of the product has been as expected. John Roeck, district transportation director for Warren Consolidated recently stated, ``If it saves one life, you can't put a price on that.'' |
