"So what is your f*cking problem?"
Well, it's NOT missing the "u" and hitting the "*". Maybe you have one of them ergonomic keyboards and haven't got used to it yet.
I have been posting almost exclusively on the rough-and-tumble "No Gloves Boxing Ring" thread. X tossed me from the Kissy thread after only one of two posts.
As for targeting people with PMs, the record is this -
Rambi made a remark about airline economics and I responded by PM. I later apologized for using the word "you" carelessly. Every direct reference to her was complimentary.
She responded to me with anger and hurt and skipped the personally complimentary part completely.
I wrote again to Rambi and disagreed with some of the things she had said. I made it clear again that I had the highest regard for her and her family and even expressed admiration for her standing up for AA. I promised not to PM her again per her request.
Rambi referred to my PMs on Kissy and I thought her characterization of me was a bit "incomplete".
You and Poet chimed in on Kissy to the effect that I was quite horrible. I then sent a PM to you and one to Poet suggesting, perhaps too subtly for you, that you ask Rambi to see the full text of my messages. I have no idea whether that happened. I even posted my two PMs to you on this thread the other day to show how bogus your claim was that I should be booted from SI.
A day or two later I made a sarcastic post to Rambi that wondered if her family's standard of living would be hurt by cutbacks at AA. FWIW, I was just as pissed off at Rambi as she at me, at that point.
Since then, I have been scolded by half the population on this thread. You and Poet seem to be a bit obsessed with this.
I got into this by expressing opinions on the dumb way airlines do business and the fact that they were looking for money to cover huge losses they were facing before the horror of Sept 11. I did not get into the TA talk until Rambi suggested, in what seemed like an uncomplimentary way, that I must be a travel agent.
In any case, I said here, a few days ago that I did not intend to use this thread as a soapbox for my view BUT that I would probably respond to other comments on the subject. This is exactly what I have done.
I could not care less how foreign carriers do business as they are not asking for a dime of taxpayer money.
I prefer to book them if they offer the best price for my client. They generally offer better service and accommodations and they pay me a better commission. If I book U.S. carriers, I include a couple of nights in a hotel so I can take advantage of "vacation package" rates. I also use a lot of consolidator flights and I sometimes find fares in the CRS computer in the wee hours that the airline does not want anyone to find. I suppose the latter are in there so they can brag to congress about the deals they offer. You should hear them squirm when hounded to sell a $500 seat that's going for $1,200 on Travelocity. Takes more than one phone call.
You may certainly arrange your travel however you want. We would not take you as a client.
Your speculation about my reasons for "targeting" these threads is amusing. The airlines have a far more powerful enemy than me - themselves.
I may have referred to my wife's travel business as "our" business. Not exactly. I love travel, I love to solve puzzles, I know and like the clients and, so, I help out a lot.
I have my own consulting business. In addition to commercial clients, I am advising and writing for a 2002 run at the U.S. Congress in your very own state. Maybe we'll meet on the old campaign trail.
Your comments about your president are shrill and disgusting. I find them offensive. |
