I can answer that one too.
It has to do with stains.
If you are an American citizen, live in the United States and make subversive statements in public, you have no big problem necessarily. Your rights are protected to a great degree by the Bill of Rights.
If you are a good Muslim and live in Kabul and you make subversive statements about the government, or publish same on some Internet site, the guys with guns have the "right" to cut off your hands or feet, or cut your throat, or shoot you, or kill your kids or your husband, in public. You don't even want to see the pictures, trust me. To those guys, you are just a stain. You, and everyone you know, is garbage, or many pieces of garbage.
So I have this responsibility as an American citizen to help protect the country. Not by going psychotic and blowing shit up, but by telling the cops if I see something that suggests to me they need to know about it. It's their job. So if that bonehead wants to call the US "Amerika" again, that's cool, as long as he knows the cops are watching. I'm fine with that. Sorry if it sounds harsh.
Now, if you want to argue about the Bill of Rights, and how it relates to this Internet site, I urge you to read the Bill of Rights carefully, and then read the SI Terms of Use carefully, and work out your argument in advance. |
