Jay an interesting post from yahoo! mohammed/koran by: AugustSpillers 09/26/01 10:26 am Msg: 53969 of 53970 Several days ago I posted a note on how in Iran the clerics had shot down a proposed law that would raise the age at which a female can be married from nine to thirteen......that's right! A female can be married at age nine----natch, nine year olds don't make that judgement for themselves----arrangements are made by family members, and apparently not for the purposes of cementing family relationships---now it seems to be a monetary deal....anyway, I got an email from someone (who wishes not to be embroiled in our religious wars)who said that perhaps the reason the age nine for female marriages was retained by clerics was BECAUSE MOHAMMED HAD A NINE YEAR OLD WIFE-----and he was known for his sexual appetite-------nine-----prepubescent---nary a hint of body maturity------haven't had a chance to check this out, but intend to...........but have found some interesting things in the past ....for example, ALLAH comes from AL-LAT, part of a "female trinity" of goddesses----the other two parts being KORE and AL-UZZA......and it is from KORE that we get the KORAN, which incidentally, Mohammed did NOT write, and apparently no informed Muslim thinks that he wrote it........incidentally, the word HAREM originally meant a "temple of women".....a cognate of that is HARAM, meaning "sanctuary" and today there is a HARAM in the Kaaaba at Mecca which houses a Black Stone that at one time was holy as a symbol of the goddess and it was marked by a sign of a "yoni" (vagina) as in the days of goddess worship, sexuality was considered good! Anyway, I have no idea what the Black Stone represents today.....and that word HAREM (temple of women) came from Babylon where there was a Temple for the Goddess Har... and her temple priestesses were called "harlots"..............funny how sex suddenly became dirty and degrading when the men took over, isn't it? And words that had previously had a sacred aspect to them became vulgar. E.g. in the orient there is a Goddess of Wisdom named Cunti......why was it so important to change the sacred to the vulgar? Hmmmmmm......? |
