Fyodor- why would Micron be interested in buying AMD?...Fabs, process technology, cash on hand, process-related IP

Might make sense if they bought AMD and then spun off the processor division.

I can only think of one company that is a logical purchaser for all of AMD. That would be Sun. If Sun wants to reach for a major chunk of the entire computer industry, AMD is a perfect fit.

Of course, I don't think Sun will do this. No guts.
