It's not only strange, it's totally ludicrous. Years ago I learned in martial arts how to wrestle a gun away from someone quite easily. Considering a pilot is supposed to be flying the plane, how is he going to be in a decent physical position to use the gun anyway? Also, has the potential damage that could occur to a plane if a stray bullet hit the wrong place been considered? This whole idea is simply nuts IMO. How about we just make the cockpits extremely secure like a bank vault instead. Guns & planes just don't mix.
