Don:
A few years ago, I was asked to go have a look at some technology developed by a very bright, elderly inventor. He lived out in the Las Vegas area. Got to know him quite well over the duration of my visit with him.
He had a very extensive gun collection which he proudly showed to me. During our discussion of same, he allowed that it had been much larger up until a year or so previous to my visit, and that it had included much heavier military gear, including a small tank, which he conveniently kept in his front driveway. Turns out that some of his neighbours didn't think his tank added to the character of the neighbourhood (upscale suburbia) so they took up a petition to force him to get rid of it. The driving force behind the petition lived across the road from my friend, hence a few days after the petition was circulated, he was terrified beyond words when he noted that the tank's turret was rotating, as he drove down the street, fixing his auto directly in the gun's direct field of fire. When he slowed down, the turret's rotation slowed down. When he sped up, so did the tank's turret rotation, always maintaining the auto directly and squarely in front of the cannon. When he exited his car, the turret rotation followed him to his front door.
Needless to say, "the authorities" soon arrived and my friend's excellent collection was soon under an enforced sale.
I darned near had a hernia, I laughed so hard when he told me the story. (g)
Incidentally, the technology he had developed was excellent.
