The spelling of America with a 'k' instead of a 'c' is an old 60's "peace movement" ploy, and was, indeed, meant to equivocate the US with Nazi Germany. It's use today would most likely indicate that the poster is definitely over-the-hill in both age and reasoning power..
A later propaganda ploy by the American left, this one in the 80's, was to attack Central Americans fighting communist geurillas as "right wing death squads". In actuality, they WERE death squads, just as US servicemen are trained to operate in "death squads". "Death squads" are an excellent idea, if you are required to kill communists, Nazis, or terrorists. Let us thus have all of them that we need for this coming struggle.
But the campaign against Central American "death squads" in the 80's was for two main reasons: For one, the American left desperately wanted to help their communist pals cling to power in the region by trying to turn American public opinion against the forces arrayed against the commies. Also, and equally important, the American left needed an emotional lift during the administration of a conservative president who was winning the cold war, and thus giving the lie to their life's beliefs.
With any luck, the American left's eventual attack against the American armed forces' efforts against world terrorism-probably by calling them "assassins" and "death squads"-will cause the American public to finally turn their backs on this natural enemy to the extent that they will never be a political force again.
That would truly signal the end of the "post-Vietnam" era of American history... |
