They still broadcast support for the idea of destroying Israel and I think that some language to that effect is still in the PLO's charter (but I might be wrong about that part).

When an offer that went far beyond anything Israel had ever offered before was put on the table the Palistinian action was not to accept the offer, or make a counter offer and continue to negotiate but rather to restart the violence.
