Art,

Regarding RF exposure. The news is even better. TDMA and GSM technology send the same average amount of power but in short bursts. The peak power is higher than an analog system by at least a factor of eight.
(Instead, RF pulses, upon absorption by soft tissues in the head, launches a thermoelastic wave of acoustic pressure that travels by bone conduction to the inner ear where it activates the cochlear receptors via the same process for normal hearing.*) Gee I guess this might explain that noise during GSM/GPRS usage.

CDMA mobile phones are limited by mutual interference. Q's IP is in reducing the transmitted power from each mobile to just enough for detection at the base station. So a CDMA phone has a smooth continuous transmission of the minimum possible power to make the connection.

IF there are biological effects from cellular phones, CDMA phones are the least harmful.
