Not!<< Your right skipper it was not their fear of God but rather their love and respect for God that drove them in their quest for truth. They believed their God's promise that if they sincerely sought the truth that He would reveal it to them. They also beleived Romans 1:19-20 that states that God's invisable qualities and His divine nature is revealed in His creation. They had reverace for both their Creator and His creation. This was their claim. They were there. You were not. Don't impose your world view on them. You have a right to your views. They have a right to theirs. Time will tell who's philosophy will prevail. We will all surely die and at that moment we will know th truth. I guess you could say we are staking our lives on it. I feel it is more REASONable to put my faith in Jesus Christ --- Less downside.
