There are many struggles for self-determination which are in reality struggles for dominance. Just heard a quote from a speech by ben Laden's religious guru in which he is claimed to have said that their struggle is to have a moslem world. That moslem world will be their brand and no other moslem's. We generally oppose religious states which oppress other religious minorities withing their confines. This is what the most militant hate most.
