Excuse me... where are the Taliban from Thomas??
If you're going to make such an argument, you might want to do a little basic research first...
The Taliban are primarily from Pakistan.. They were supported by the Pakistani ISI (intelligence service), and ARE NOT of Afghan origin. If anything, they impose their form of society upon the Afghani people, many of who are now refugees, or fighting with the Northern Alliance (who are not angels either).
And the Taliban HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE for inciting extremist Islam and advancing their particularly repressive form of Wahhabi style Islam, in a variety of different countries, including Egypt, China, Pakistan, Somalia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Sudan, Indonesia, and the Phillipines.
And considering that once they achieve their religious-political goals in a nation, the first they do is outlaw any opposition, I would call that hegemonic behavior. Afghanistan is a perfect example of what the these groups have in store, not only for the west, but other muslim societies.
And if you need evidence, I suggest you ask the Chinese, and the Turkmenistanis, who have BOTH been battling fundamentalist movements within their own societies (which is why China opted to arrive at a "quid pro quo" with the Taliban in exchange for a reduction in support to these groups operating in Xinjiang province).
People like yourself are the Neville Chamberlains of current times... Peace, and appeasement, at any cost... with hope that these extremist groups will moderate....
Well, it hasn't worked with "killer bees" who are far more aggressive and dominate than their "domesticated" brethren, and I don't believe it's going to occur with intolerant extremist groups who have been declaring that they are at war with the US and will target all Americans, soldiers or civilians, at any opportunity.
Now I don't know about you.. but I can understand trying to shoo these nasty little insects off because we don't perceive them as much of a threat and their capabilities don't match their rhetoric. But when they start to swarm you, or strike a sensitive part, then eventually you have to take them as a serious threat.
But it's quite apparent that they are serious about fighting this battle and bringing to the US mainland. I can show you 6,000 examples of how intent they are.
And I can show you OH SO MANY OTHER WAYS they could attack this nation, that make the WTC/Pentagon attacks look like a
joke.
Try biological warfare and nuclear terrorism for starters... then try economic biological warfare such as "foot and mouth" disease...
And then try massive cyber-attacks on the IT infrastructure of this society...
WTC was just the opening round Thomas... What's it going to take to make you mad enough to love your "civilize facade" and start thinking about some serious payback???
Is it going to take losing your entire family to an biological attakc with anthrax??
