GV, re: At most universities with speech codes, the administration defines what is politically correct. So in the case of universities, at least, what is not PC is community based regulation. I guess that means that at a conservative university (oxymoron?), the regulations would be very different. I guess I'm having difficulty with a clear definition of "Politically Correct". Would "social regulations defined by an institution for it's members" work? Maybe you could add that the regulations need to be designed to promote behavior that isn't offensive to anyone. I thought that you might come back with the ACLU as the final arbiter of PC. Now that's a group that must feel beleaguered these days. John
