John,
This morning I posted, on the IBM thread, that I believed today's announcement of Compaq buying Tandem was a potential negative for IBM. Conversely, and long term, today's announcement should bode very well of Intel and Microsoft going forward. I think Compaq's
ability to see synergy between the two companies is an endorsement for Windows NT and a committment to push Intel into the mainframe and enterprise markets.
