That was one month ago when I checked. If memory was $20 this past quarter and it's now free, what does that say about MU's losses for the quarter about to start? The rebate situation you describes means they are LITERALLY paying you to take their memory. Losing lots of money per chip but making it up on volume?

The problem is that none of the makers is willing to shut down. Little players going out of business won't be enough. One of the big boys like Micron, Hynix, Samsung, etc, has to exit the business. My guess is Hynix, but that is probably 6 months away. The South Korean bankers just gave them more money, probably due to fears of what a collapse of Hynix would do to their economy.
