The plane pancaked on the heliport tarmac and then slid into the 1st floor...

That from a gentleman I know who was only 75 meters from the event (down the hall)..

Also, because of the structural improvements made to that wing recently, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th stories were relatively untouched and personnel were able to evacuate for up to 30 minutes afterward before it collapsed.

Incredible luck, that plane pancaking first and absorbing most of the impact force..
