OT re DSL:

I've come to the conclusion that, by the time DSL is widely installed, it will be obsolete. Cable, and, after that, fixed wireless, are the next stepping-stones. Cable, also, has the same problem as DSL (depends on the service provider installing enough equipment to keep up with local demand). We've been very happy with our cable modem, here in Alaska, but it definitely slows down around 5:30pm, when everyone gets home and checks their email, portfolio, and porn sites.
