MCLD: see this from Marketwatch this evening? McLeodUSA responds to stock action (MCLD) By Nicole Maestri Competitive local exchange carrier McLeodUSA Inc. (MCLD) said late Thursday that it believes its stock has been trading "irrationally" based on "groundless rumors." McLeodUSA said it was confident in its future and had "absolutely no intention of filing for bankruptcy." McLeodUSA said it's on track to complete its detailed review of the company and will communicate its plans to shareholders in the next several weeks. Shares closed down 16 percent at 31 cents ahead of the release.
