crystal, your dad s/b telling you that the BUBBLE was guaranteed to pop (hint, few things in the history of the world have shown 100% cause and effect and this is one of them).

greenspan induced the bubble. he arbitrarily changed the accounting of the productivity metric and, thereby, created a "new economy" illusion - the very foundation of the economic idiocy we have almost left behind. he then provided excessive credit to fuel the fire.

once the bubble was created, it was going to pop no matter what. it was just waiting for a reason. this is precisely why i b* about greenspan all the way up - i saw the financial ruin we see today at naz 3k. and at naz 4k. and at naz 5k (although my jaw was nearly touching the floor at naz 5k i was in such shock).

i believe faith is for god, not for nations or people. not to say i don't thank god for living in america b/c i do! finances are often not big on god's list, imho. why would god spend a lot of effort on something that lasts just a few decades instead of what will last forever?

just ask job.

i do wish you the best and believe you were SMART not to risk all your capital. however, the tone of your notes are very misleading and touty. iow, they make a used car sales pitch appear tame.
