If only it were so. Unfortunately Arafat can't be removed from office by any means short of his death. Which, at this point, Hamas will be glad to arrange on the day he signs any peace treaty with the word 'final' on it.

Since the Mufti's times, the Palestinians have formed a bad habit of denouncing their moderates as 'traitors' and shooting them. This generally makes their leaders a nasty bunch.
