West, I know you're "just another clueless old guy with nothing better to do", but your claims about not bothering with SI anymore are getting old. You bother, even after oftentimes saying you're gone. Personally, I like reading your point of view, even though I think you are a person I would not want to spend a minute with socially. I suspect you feel the same about me. Luckily, neither of us care.

But I'm curious as to how you can sit and insult Zeev's position when on the 21st you yourself said <<At DOW 7729, S&P 877 - we go no lower for now. That is what I would love to see for a safe long trade. That is the buy of the century on a bounce play if we get it on any final capitulation move. We may have seen it today however based on a few other technicals.>> (http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=16396398)

I remember that post, because I do happen to read that thread and was surprised to see you there since you'd forsaken SI many times. Still, I agreed with you then that we MAY have seen capitulation. Those were your words. Zeev feels a little more firmly. The S+P is a good 7% above that low, the Naz 6% and so on. Only the SOXX has made new lows. Now whether all the indices retrace or not. . . and whether going long at the exact bottom was doable or smart. . . those are meaningful bounces if you caught them. Dangerous? Yes. But I don't know anyone buying that bottom for a long term hold, yet, so the level of danger is all in the stops, isn't it?

Personally, I agree with you that the bear isn't over. I don't know where it'll go or in what timeframe. I dare say neither do you or Zeev or anyone (except the PPT, perhaps). We all have suspicions, ideas, and facts to back them up. I enjoy it when people share those, as you've done sometimes in the past. Perhaps you can explain for me (and others who read you), why and when you expect those targets to be hit. Why now and not, say, December or next April? I know you have reasons, so if you're not yet gone from SI this time, perhaps you'll have pity on this one idiot and illuminate me. <g>
