Religion seems to me , man's way of proclaiming silently
within himself , an awareness of being
the universe ....beyond mere speculation
and with a sense of wonder, prescence and
quiete awe.

In one sense , the first prophets of "God" , were the men
who rubbed the first two sticks together
with reverence and made fire from
that friction... and they knew
it was "good" .

( fire that was a destroyer , yet benficial in warmth, heat
light and protection...If there is a "God" , he was just
as much in existence then, as he is to be appreciated now )

from the ancient Hindu Svetasvatara Upanishad :

As oil in sesame seeds, as butter in cream,
as water in river beds, as fire in friction sticks,
so is the soul grasped in one's own self
when one searches for Him with
truthfulness and austerity.

The little Buddha (inside you) says:

The secret of health for both mind and body
is not to mourn for the past,
not to worry about the future,
or not to anticipate troubles,
but to live the present moment wisely
and earnestly.
