Nah, that doesn't frighten me at all, heck no, our government and law enforcement agencies are brimming with honest hard working folk who would never use that information against their citizens. Nope, nuh unh.....it would never happen, besides, if we don't have anything to hide, why should we care if they do share the information with other governmeng agencies, like the IRS?

The war that was declared on us, the US Citizens, isn't just about our lives, it is also about the way we live our lives. It will be a stunning victory by the terrorists if the first thing to happen is that we lose our civil liberties.

We can be supportive of our government without forgetting that the track record of our politicians has not been stellar when it comes to honesty and integrity. Do you want Condit to have all of your personal information at his fingertips? Just because we are all united against a common foe, does not mean that we need to give up the things that make the U.S. unique and great in fighting that foe. If we can't think of a way to neutralize the threat of terrorism while still maintaining the principles in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, then we simply have not thought about the problem hard enough and perhaps we do not have the right people doing the thinking.

Does this comfort you? What about a federal "flying" license, one with your picture, finger print, and background information on a magnetic strip?

People who submit to the background investigation are allowed to board without Israeli-like searches.

The idea is to willingly give up your privacy for 'ease' of travel.

I think we are getting closer to the idea of a federal ID card.
