I understand Tom and in light of the circumstances I support backing these companies. Airline failure would have sweeping ramifactions. That said, as a taxpayer I'd feel better about the bailout if executives would share the pain with taxpayers and take paycuts and advocate for some pay for affected workers. The industry slump will be short lived, meanwhile these families have cash flow concerns of their own.

That's what I would do if I ran an airline now. I'd humbly ask the US taxpayers to infuse my business to see me and my employees through.

The American people are generous (and underapppreciated for it I might add).
