US Golden Bubbles, not Green-span. It's all psychology, since Nixon took the US off the Gold standard. The US Dollar is really script. So are stocks. There never was a bubble, there never is this crash. It's just "consensus" group psychology. It's beauty in the eyes of the beholder. Then again, one could argue that the US Dollar is really backed by nuclear weapons. Afterall, the government requires us to use dollars as "LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE" and if we refuse to take it, the debt is unenforceable in court, it is deemed paid if a tender of dollars is refused, and I agree the Courts do have those big nuclear guns backing them. They also require you to pay taxes in dollars. The ATOMIC DOLLAR. Or of course there is all this food we produce, and even all this technology, one thing potato chips and silicon chips have in common is that they all take a lot of fresh water to produce. You can not drink sea water or polluted water, and there again the US has more fresh water and arable irrigated farmland than any other country on earth. the WATER DOLLAR....but that sounds kind of watered down doesn't it. But it is probably closer to the truth than the gold standard or nuclear superpower, that is, the power of America is our people. America is not a place but a shared idea of freedom and democracy among freedom loving people. Thus the AMERICAN DOLLAR, a country united, and that means, you and me, that means all of us, that's it, the US DOLLAR. The U.S. DOLLAR is really the US DOLLAR, the American ideas behind it that give it value. And of course, the psychology determines whether it has value, and whether stocks have value, whether people will continue to take risks to start and run businesses and provide jobs, employing people, earning money, creating consumer confidence to spend that money. It really is the US DOLLAR. The U.S. markets and U.S. Economy, the US, will all rise again. They can kill us, but they can never destroy the American Dream, the very idea behind America, inside each of US.
